Fire and Smoke Damage Recovery:

  • Wet Smoke: smoke damage that is difficult to clean caused by a low heat fire with numerous areas that are smoldering leaving a pungent odor, sticky, smeary.

  • Dry Smoke - Smoke that is from a high temperature fire that was extremely fast burning

  • Protein.

  • Fire - Virtually invisible, discolors paints and varnishes. Extreme pungent odor, greasy and yellowish brown in color.

  • Fuel Oil Soot - Furnace puff backs cause fuel oil soot.

  • Other Types - Tear gas, fingerprint powder, and fire extinguisher residue are other types.

  • River Flooding: Occurs from a burst water main, snow melting resulting from storms.

  • Coastal Flooding: Caused by heavy rains and poor drainage. This occurs when intense, offshore low-pressure systems drive ocean water inland. The water pushed ashore is called storm surge.

  • Urban Flooding: occurs where there has been development within stream floodplains

  • Flash Flooding: A flash flood is the fastest-moving type of flood

  • Flood Damage - A natural water disaster brought about by man or nature causing the spread of disease and property damage.

  • Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) - Reduces or eliminates the risk to people and property from hazards and taking action. FEMA's mission is to reduce loss of life and property and protect our nation's critical infrastructure from all types of hazards through a comprehensive, risk-based, emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

  • Flood Insurance (NFIP) - Flood insurance denotes the specific insurance coverage against property loss from flooding. To determine risk factors for specific properties.

Kill Mold - Remove Mold

  • Mold: parasitic, microscopic fungi (like Penicillin) with spores that float in the air like pollen. Mold is a type of fungus that grows on plants and fibers and is most often associated with damp, musty locations such as bathrooms, basements and attics.

  • Toxic Black Mold: Stachybotrys chartarum (obsolete: Stachybotrys alternans and Stachybotrys atra) is a greenish-black mold that is commonly found outdoors and sometimes found in damp or flooded homes.

  • Allergenic Mold: Like pollens, mold spores are important airborne allergens only if they are abundant, easily carried by air currents, and allergenic in their chemical makeup. Found almost everywhere, mold spores in some areas are so numerous they often outnumber the pollens in the air. Fortunately, however, only a few dozen different types are significant allergens.

  • In general, Alternaria and Cladosporium (Hormodendrum) are the molds most commonly found both indoors and outdoors throughout the Arizona Aspergillus, Penicillium, Helminthosporium, Epicoccum, Fusarium, Mucor, Rhizopus, and Aureobasidium (Pullularia) are also common.

  • Mycotoxic Mold: Mycotoxic mold and mold spores are those containing toxins in the cell wall.. These molds range from short-term irritation to immunosuppression, to cancer and even death. If toxic molds is suspected, it is suggested that you seek advice from a mold professional for guidance on how  to remove mold. The average homeowner should NOT attempt the abatement of these types of mold.

  • Pathogenic Mold: A mold that causes infections. Pathogenic mold is the type of mold that causes infections. Pathogenic molds can cause serious health effects in persons with suppressed immune systems.

  • Mildew: Mildew refers to certain kinds of mold or fungus. Mold or fungi; often used in reference to fungal growth on bathroom tiles and fixtures. Molds and mildew may be hazardous. A home or business owner should immediately contact a mold abatement professional for an inspection.
